CANADA – The MADD prepares to unveil a memorial in Canada in hopes of keeping the memory of DUI victims alive as well as deterring drivers from drinking and operating a motor vehicle.
The Southeast Chapter of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) is preparing to show their latest project in September at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens in Moncton.
The MADD Canada Memorial Wall and Garden is a tribute to those who have lost their lives because of drunk driving incidents. MADD members also hope that the memorial will serve as a deterrent to those who tend to drink and drive and offer hope to the community.
The wall is set to accommodate up to 300 names. There is no specific timeframe regarding the death of DUI victims to be commemorated.
Anyone interested in honoring a loved one that has passed due to a drunk driving accident should log onto the organization’s website, www.madd.ca/senb.
Every year, thousands of lives are claimed because of a drunk driving incident. While laws regarding the consumption of alcohol have become stricter and penalties have become harsher, still, the rate of drunk driving incidents continues to remain steadfast.
Anyone who has been injured because of a drunk driver or who has lost a loved one as a result of a DUI should contact a DUI attorney immediately for assistance. You may be entitled to a large sum of money for your pain and/or loss and a DUI attorney will see to it that you get the compensation you deserve.
Don’t tackle a DUI on your own. A DUI attorney is a trained legal professional who specializes in substance abuse cases and will take care of your claim from start to finish. Contact a DUI attorney near you to start claiming your rightful benefits as a victim of a DUI.
